About the Vaquero Cook-Off

JANUARY 31st - FEBRUARY 1st, 2020

Head to Downtown San Antonio and Hemisfair to enjoy some of the traditional staples of the Vaqueros from the 1800s. The 2020 Vaquero Cook-Off will include entries for Chili con Carne, Charro Beans, Carne Guisada and Menudo.

Friday, January 31st from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. features Cook's Choice (any traditional Mexican food entry) and Chili con Carne

Saturday, February 1st from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. features Borracho/Charro Beans, Carne Guisada and Menudo

Three places will be awarded in each category as well as an Overall Grand Champion, Overall Reserve Grand Champion and Showmanship.
