Bexar County FFA Scholarship Reception 2012
San Antonio, TX – The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo presented 18 San Antonio area FFA members with scholarships and awards totaling $288,000. The presentations took place at the June 25th Bexar County FFA Scholarship Ceremony held at the state of the art Northeast ISD Agriscience Magnet Program Facility on the campus of James Madison High School.
Joe Hutchison, President of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Inc. (S.A.L.E.) presented the awards, assisted by Scholarship Committee Chairman Jackie Simmonds. Students receiving S.A.L.E. Scholarships were from a variety of local high schools. Students awarded $16,000 scholarships include:

This year the San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Inc (d.b.a. San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo) has committed $10.1 million to education. The amount represents scholarships, grants, endowments, junior livestock and student western art auctions, a Calf Scramble program and show premiums paid to youth in the state of Texas. This brings the total amount the organization has committed since inception to $123.3 million.
