President

After serving as Vice President/Secretary on the Executive Committee, Cody Davenport has been elected President of the organization. A lifelong Rodeo fan, Davenport officially joined the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo family in 1993 as a volunteer for the Auction Committee. During Davenport’s tenure, he helped develop two instrumental and successful committees: Bar-B-Q Cook-off and Ranch Rodeo, which are in existence today. He became an Assistant Vice President in 2005 and joined the Executive Committee in 2009. Davenport’s leadership skills combined with an added comprehensive understanding of all that makes the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo unique, will make him an ideal president.

“I am honored to be elected as President for such a respected organization,” Davenport said. “The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo serves as a pillar for the community and the state of Texas by supporting youth through their educational and agricultural endeavors. I am grateful to be a part of this family and look forward to working side-by-side with our over 6,000 dedicated volunteers.”

In addition to the election of president, the organization also elected Mark Colaw to join the Executive Committee as Vice President. Colaw was instrumental in the evolution of the horse show facilities that patrons now enjoy during the annual Stock Show & Rodeo. His enthusiasm and passion quickly became his trademark. His leadership talents were recognized when he became a Life Member in 1993 and a director in 1996. Colaw became Assistant Vice President in 2005 and was made Lifetime Assistant Vice President in 2011. From assisting with the Boots ‘N Shoot annual fundraiser, and the Junior Shoot-Out Contest, Colaw has influenced many committees with his guidance.
