Rowe Wins $4,000 Scholarship in Llama Show
Rowe won the honor with Rampage Rogue, a five-year-old brown medium-wool llama. Rowe competed in showmanship, obstacle, pack, public relations, as well as the youth judging.
Rowe has worked with llamas for the last eight years. He wanted a chance to work with animals and the opportunity to get involved with llamas arose through a 4-H project.
“Llamas are unique enough to be fun and gentle enough for anyone to work with them,” he said. “They are practical animals. You can do a lot with them and their wool is very useful.”

“I was very excited to win the scholarship because I had seen others win it in the past, and I had been working for it,” he said. “It has turned out to be very rewarding, and I’m very appreciative of the scholarship.”
Two scholarships were awarded to the high-point and reserve high-point youths in the Llama Show. The show is run in conjunction with the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo and approved by the Alpaca and Llama Show Association.
