The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is proud to welcome one of the largest carnival providers in the United States. Wade Shows provides a variety of rides from extreme to mild in order to satisfy rodeo patrons of all ages. New rides this year are The Enterprise and the Power Surge.

The Frontier Club is a dining and entertainment establishment located between the Freeman Coliseum and the Exhibit Market Place on the AT&T Center/Freeman Coliseum Grounds.

During the Rodeo, the Frontier Club hosts live bands Wednesday through Saturday nights and has a full bar selection. Prior to the Rodeo performance and throughout the day (11:00 a.m. open time) the Frontier Club full service restaurant is catered by Hofbrau and will offer a lunch menu, buffet, and full service bar.

Reservations are recommended, especially during hours just prior to Rodeo performances. By becoming a member during the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, you join us in supporting youth, agriculture and education. Proceeds benefit the Junior Livestock Auction and the S.A.L.E. Scholarship Fund.

The Frontier Club is open to all for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and to members on evenings and weekends.

About the Van de Walle Fajita Corral

The Corral is operated by volunteer from the Fajita Corral Committee, as well as many corporate volunteers, with proceeds benefiting the S.A.L.E. Scholarship Fund. To date the Corral has raised nearly $3 million to support the education of Texas youth. If you have a taste for great Texas barbeque, this is the place to eat! Mouth-watering brisket, beef or chicken fajitas, great dumplings and baked potatoes, will fill up even the hungriest of Stock Show & Rodeo guests.

Swifty Swine Sprints

A fast-paced, action-packed show that is visually exciting and keeps audiences on their toes as the competing pigs race to the finish line. The audience is guaranteed to go “hog wild” as “Swifty” the pig shows off his swimming and diving skills.

There is also an educational segment incorporated into the show called “P.U. Piggie University,” which provides informative facts about pigs and their importance to medical science. There are five shows daily during the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.

About the Western Heritage Parade & Cattle Drive

Join us for this free event as we celebrate our proud Texas heritage and the kick-off for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. The mile long route through the streets of downtown San Antonio will feature participants such as Fort Hood 1st Cavalry Division, Texas A&M Parson's Mounted Cavalry, Fort Sam Houston Caisson and of course, a herd of Texas Longhorns.


The Western Heritage Parade & Cattle drive was held on Saturday, February 6, 2016.

Houston Street and Alamo Plaza

11:00 a.m. Parade starts from Christus Santa Rosa Hospital / I35 and extends to the Alamo.

9:00 AM - 1:00 PM Kid's Games, Family activities and chuck wagon biscuits and gravy will be located at Alamo Plaza.

About the Trail Ride

More than 3,500 riders give up the comforts of home and take to the open road on horseback and in wagons to ride to the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. From 11 locations in South and Central Texas, these riders promote fellowship and horseback riding as they make their way to the Rodeo with the ride concluding in grand fashion inside the AT&T center Rodeo arena.

About Boy Scout / Girl Scout Day

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is proud to partner with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of Texas to host Scout Day on the first Sunday of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. Participating Boy and Girl Scout troops will engage in a day of educational and fun-filled activities for the whole family including a scavenger hunt through the Cowboy Boot Camp, Animal Adventures, Texas Wildlife Expo and the Horse Education Center.

After the scout troops have completed their scavenger hunt and if you have purchased tickets to the event, they have the opportunity to enjoy the 1:00 p.m. PRCA Rodeo performance and family-friendly live entertainment following.

Rodeo

We are proud to introduce internationally acclaimed horseman and trick roping artist, Tomas Garcilazo to the San Antonio Rodeo. Tomas has performed throughout the world and has been featured on Broadway stage, theatre, European entertainment tours and guest performances for Presidents of the United States and Mexico. Tomas, a native of Mexico City, was introduced at an early age to his family heritage and tradition of “La Charreria” a skill performed through the generations only by the Mexican Charro. Charros take extreme pride in their highly developed horsemanship and roping abilities. Tomas was been named the PRCA Dress Act of the Year in 2007 and 2012 and 2013.

Brickfest LIVE! – Brickfest Live! is a LEGO Fan Experience built to inspire, educate, and entertain with LEGO bricks. Throughout the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, Brick Fest Live will showcase LEGO attractions, exhibits and activities to create a memorable experience for all guests, at any age, and any level of LEGO fandom.

The Ultimate BMX Stunt Show Experience - Come see an exciting show featuring one of the Best BMX Stunt Show Teams in the Nation! You will sit on the edge of your seats as riders fly high and perform daring stunts! The team is comprised of multiple National Champions that have competed in major events including the X-Games, Dew Tour & RedBull competitions.

Brad’s World Reptiles - Brad’s World Reptiles is driven by Brad’s passion for education and nature. He has traveled the globe accumulating vast knowledge about the natural world. Brad shares his knowledge with thrilling stories that entertain and educate. His show includes some of the most beautiful and exotic animals on our planet!

Gypsy Time Traveler - Michel Olson and Christy Horne are a husband and wife team who travel all across the United States in "Florence" their Recreational Castle, Blacksmith Shop and Stage. They combine fabulous storytelling with anvil accompaniment in their award winning show!

H20 Exhibits - New to the Texas Wildlife Expo is our very own 40 foot fishing pond. Children, with the help of their parents, will have a chance to catch and release one of the 1500 fish swimming around.

Livestock/Horse Show

Agrobotics Challenge - This exciting new contest is designed to inspire young people and develop an early interest in robotics engineering and technology with an agricultural focus. This is a team competition for Texas 4-H and FFA members. This fun challenge will test the construction skills and proficiency of the youth. The general public is invited to witness the robots in action during the finals of the Agrobotics Challenge.

Youth Horse Challenge - The Youth Horse Challenge is an all-youth competition testing knowledge, skills, and abilities related to horsemanship. Contestants compete in rounds covering everything from business skills to riding abilities.

Landscape Challenge - This novel contest was initiated to promote landscape design knowledge and professionalism to youth for future generations of Green Industry professionals, and to educate the public on the beauty and value of landscaping. Students will be tested on their landscape design skills and knowledge of plants, plant pests and diseases. The Landscape Challenge will culminate with a final round of landscaping plots on the grounds, which will be an attraction for the general public during the entire Stock Show & Rodeo.

Jr. Wether Doe Show – This new event was created for junior exhibitors to show their non-registered breeding goat females. It is intended to be an exhibition specifically focused on does suited for market wether production and will take place at 6 p.m. on Opening Day.

Performers

From new radio-dominating pop stars to CMA Award winners, the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is providing entertainment for everyone. Pop artist Becky G is making her first rodeo appearance, along with Jason Derulo. To keep it country, patrons will also see first time appearances by Turnpike Troubadours, Old Dominion, and recent award-winning sensation Chris Stapleton. Rock n’ roll powerhouse Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, and 2016 Grammy-nominee, La Maquinaria Norteña, will also make their debut. Click here to view a list of all Rodeo Performers.

The former marketplaces have a new all-encompassing name of “The Shops at the Rodeo.” Over 600 vendors will set up inside climate controlled buildings- the two Expo Halls and the Freeman Coliseum. Shops will offer home furnishings, accessories, leather goods, agricultural related items, equipment, custom boots, clothing and jewelry. Shop till you drop at ‘The Shops at the Rodeo’ marketplaces—where over 600 themed retailers showcase their wares in climate controlled venues. There are three locations around the grounds including inside Freeman Coliseum, Expo Hall (across the Food Court) and Exhibit Hall (near Horse Discovery).

Numerous hand-selected vendors showcase items such as home furnishings, accessories, leather goods, agricultural related items, equipment, custom boots, clothing and jewelry. From Shabby Chic to Old West, there is something for all tastes!

Additionally, there are vendors located throughout the Stock Show grounds, in front of the barns along Freeman Blvd, along Bickett St. and in the Texas Wildlife Expo area.

Little Buckaroo Farms

Little Buckaroo Farms: A Texas Family Experience is presented by H-E-B in cooperation with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and others. Exhibits offer visitors a chance to see the agricultural origins of the food and fiber needed for daily living. Exhibits show agricultural production from farm and ranch to the kitchen table. Visitors to Little Buckaroo Farm can sample southwest dairy products, see a live beehive, take a picture with a farm animal or try their hand at goat-milking! Exhibits and displays include a dairy product exhibit, honeybee exhibit, Bexar County Master Gardener's booth, rainwater harvesting display, farm animal exhibit and an indoor garden display.

Bexar County Master Gardener/horticulture-related exhibits and activities include:

  • Sales of new rodeo tomato and ornamental plants
  • Gardening advice from experts
  • Vegetable gardening displays
  • Limited-space gardening
  • Greenhouse growing

Our child-friendly Pony Rides offer a chance to ride beautiful pure bred Welsh ponies under a revolving tent top. Our gorgeous, healthy, strong, purebred Welsh ponies are a sight to see, and kids fall in love with them. About Youth Day

Hosted by the School Tours Committee of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, Youth Day is an entire day during the San Antonio Rodeo dedicated to Youth! During this day, 4-H, FFA, & FCCLA members from across Texas gather together to showcase their organizations, activities, & project work. These members set up exhibits and interactive activity booths for young visitors attending the Stock Show & Rodeo. Children are treated to arts and crafts, games, demonstrations, sweet treats, and educational activities. All the fun of Youth Day is included with your rodeo or grounds ticket.

The School Tours Committee also hosts a photography contest as part of the Youth Day activities. Entries from the contest are on display in the School Tours tent located in Family Fair from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The Photography Contest Awards Ceremony will be held in the School Tours tent also.

Horse Discovery provides the opportunity to learn more about horses and the sport of rodeo. Exhibits include displays of horses, their uses and their role in today’s world. The Rodeo Experience feature provides an up-close exploration of rodeo events, including interactive and hands-on exhibits. Expert clinics and demonstrations present fun and informative insights into horse training methods, riding types, horse care and ways to enjoy time spent with horses.

Big Things Are Happening

The Animal Adventures exhibit is designed to help folks gain a better understanding of the relationship between the everyday uses of animal products and the importance of agriculture. This interactive exhibit is open daily with various activities involving audience participation. The various stages of animal production are presented, as well as the colorful history of the industries. Product displays, demonstrations, interactive video, and feed samples are just a few of the educational tidbits provided. Live animals are also on exhibit for everyone to see. Take time to view wool and mohair displays, hatching of chicks, and other interesting activities.
