Student Western Art Contest, Exhibit & Auction
Student Western Art Contest, Exhibit & Auction

The Student Western Art Contest, Exhibit and Auction encourages Texas youth in their appreciation of our western heritage and assists them in their educational endeavors. The Contest is open to current Texas high school students and occurs annually in December.

Entries judged as the Top 15 are sold at a live auction to the highest bidder, and the remaining Top 25 entries (16-25) will be sold at a silent auction to the highest bidder. Each student artist will receive the full amount of the proceeds in the form of a college scholarship (certain restrictions apply). The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo’s Western Art Committee will host this year’s auction in January, at the Briscoe Western Art Museum in the Jack Guenther Pavilion.

The Museum will also be exhibiting the Top 25 pieces of artwork throughout the month of January prior to the exhibit moving to the grounds of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in February.
