Student Western Art Contest, Exhibit & Auction
Student Western Art Contest, Exhibit & Auction

The Student Western Art Contest, Exhibit and Auction encourages Texas youth in their appreciation of our western heritage and assists them in their educational endeavors. The Contest is open to current Texas high school students and occurs annually in December.

Entries judged as the Top 25 are auctioned to the highest bidder with each student receiving a scholarship in the amount of the winning bid (certain restrictions apply). The San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Inc.’s Western Art Committee will host this year’s auction in January, at the Briscoe Western Art Museum in the Jack Guenther Pavilion.

The Museum will also be exhibiting the Top 50 pieces of artwork throughout the month of January prior to the exhibit moving to the grounds of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in February.
