Beautiful skies, green grass and 180 golfers set the scene for the 17^th Annual Go Western Gala Golf Tournament held at the Flying L Golf Resort on September 15, 2007. 

Despite all the weathermen telling us to expect rain, we had a glorious south Texas day for the fun filled event.  Waking up to hot coffee and homemade tacos, golfers began the day by competing in longest drive and chipping contests . 

Tee off time came at 11:00 as all golfers and scorekeeper scattered to their respective tee off hole locations.  Brisket, sausage, fajitas, ice cream, Don Strange white wings were all served on the golf course. 

Door prizes and contest prizes were handed out at the awards party following the conclusion of play.  The winner was Bert Thompson/Hollywood Park Automotive followed by the second place winner, Quadrangle Press.  The winner will receive a table for 10 in the Golden Corral and the second place team will receive a regular table at the Go Western Gala on January 19, 2008. 

A wonderful time was had by all and the Gala Committee would like to express our gratitude to all of our donors and team sponsors for the continued support of the tournament and the SALE scholarship fund.
