The Fall Fest Committee will hold their annual Cowboy Golf Classic at the Republic Golf Club on February 16, 2010.
The 2009 Golf Classic surpassed the previous year, setting a new record with 156 players in attendance. Fourteen P.R.C.A. contestants and two professional rodeo clowns/bullfighters attended the event.
Everyone enjoyed a great time of camaraderie and fellowship while raising money for the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund (JCCF.) While the scores were being tabulated, everyone appreciated a B-B-Q lunch with all the trimmings along with beverages. Most of the guests won prizes from an overwhelming assortment of raffle items. A live auction also offered an array of unique items and was a crowd pleaser.
Once the dust had settled, a check in the amount of $50,000 was presented to JCCF Program Manager, Cindy Schonholtz. Once again, the amount broke the Fall Fest committee's own 2008 record of the largest individual donation by a rodeo committee. This was made possible not only by the players, but by the overwhelming support of many sponsors. Special thanks to Chris Christians of Lynwood Building Materials, Wallace & Margaret Brumley of Brumley PEO, Tex Farmer of BIG's, Todd Whitaker of Hill Country Steel, and Juan De Hoyas of L & H Contracting, for their generous donations. The committee also wishes to thank everyone that helped make the new record possible.
